To Make an Appointment
We try to see all patients on an appointment basis, and we request that you call in advance so that we can reserve time for you. To schedule an appointment, please call our office at (713) 946-9513.
Please remember that if your insurance carrier requires a referral from your primary care physician, it is your responsibility to provide us with that information. Please contact your primary care physician prior to your scheduled appointment time.
We make every effort to honor all time commitments and request that you extend the same courtesy to us. On occasion, emergencies can cause problems and whenever possible, you will be fully informed if there will be any delay in your appointment because of this.
Your First Visit
The initial visit begins with a comprehensive review of your medical history. It is helpful to accurately complete the detailed questionnaire that you can fill out and print online. You can also access our Practice Portal to fill out registration forms and a detailed medical questionnaire which can be submitted electronically to our office prior to your appointment. A nurse first reviews the questionnaire with the patient and then the physician will review the history and perform a general physical examination.
At the completion of the visit, the physician will discuss the possible problems or diagnosis and will recommend additional studies and/or outline a treatment program. Additional tests may include analysis of blood samples, X-rays, or endoscopic procedures. The additional tests will be scheduled at the end of the patient's visit. The nurses will review information regarding the additional tests or procedures as well as preparation instructions.
Educational material and dietary information are provided to reinforce the discussion and help in treatment. Also, extensive information can be obtained from the website as directed by your doctor
The physicians of the Digestive Health Center perform many diagnostic procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and abnormalities of the esophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, small intestine, and large intestine or colon.

This procedure is performed to evaluate symptoms of persistent heartburn, upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, difficulty swallowing, ulcers, or bleeding from the upper gastrointestinal tract.
The focus of this examination is the detection of possible causes for chronic diarrhea, abdominal pain, anemia, bleeding, and removal of polyps.
Our doctors are accomplished in Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography for treatment of bile duct tumors and gallstones.
All prescriptions and authorizations for renewals should be requested during normal business hours. We do not refill routine prescriptions after hours or on holidays.
We recognize that you can have an emergency situation arise, and we will do our best to respond to your problem promptly. In the event of a severe situation, or one in which you are in doubt, go immediately to the emergency room of the nearest hospital and ask them to contact your doctor. If the situation is not that severe, but one where you wish contact with your doctor, please telephone our office at (713) 946-9513 and the doctor will be in touch with you either directly or through office personnel giving you instructions on where to meet for emergency care.
All patients are encouraged to call with any questions they have on medical problems. However, it would be most unfair to our patients, were the doctor to leave, to answer every telephone call. The office staff has been trained to answer many of your questions. They will also relay your information to the doctor and your call will be returned or otherwise answered at the earliest opportunity.

Fee and Payments
All co-pays are collected at time of visit. Deductibles are collected in full prior to your scheduled procedure. Be prepared to pay any outstanding balances you may have at time of visit.
In the event that you are hospitalized, our office will pre-certify your hospitalization and/or outpatient procedure for you. After the insurance company pays its portion of the bill, you will receive a statement showing your remaining balance, which will then be due at that time. We allow the insurance company thirty (30) days to pay your claim. At that time, if the insurance company has not paid, it is your responsibility to see that the bill is paid.
It is your responsibility to pay any deductible amount, co-pays, co-insurance or any other balance not paid by your insurance company.
Medicare patients are required to pay their 20% co-insurance once they have met the deductible for the year.
X-Ray, Lab and Biopsy Results
You can now retrieve your test results and biopsy reports by calling our automated lab reporting system. Simply call (713) 947-2207 and enter your social security number as your access code and listen to your biopsy results. Please allow 3-4 days for results to become available.
